Business continuity · Geneva

The day
it all stops.

Ransomware, server failure, human error, disaster. Every business faces it, one day. What changes is what happens next.

We've thought it through before you had to; so you don't have to think it through under pressure.

What actually happens

Not doomsday scenarios.
Ordinary events.

Ransomware

An email, a click, and your data is encrypted by a third party. It happens several times a week in Switzerland — mostly to SMEs, not large corporations.

Hardware failure

A hard drive gives out, a server won't restart. Without a recent backup and a recovery plan, getting back up can take days.

Human error

A deleted file, an overwritten database, a migration gone wrong. Human error remains the leading cause of data loss.

Disaster or force majeure

Fire, water damage, prolonged power outage. Rare, but enough to end a business if no copy exists elsewhere.

Backup architecture

Your data in three places.
Always in Switzerland.

The architecture we put in place depends on your situation — local infrastructure or hosted with us. Either way, the principle is the same: no single copy, no single location. And nothing leaves Switzerland.

Scenario A

Your infrastructure is on your premises

Local backup On site, in your own premises. First level of protection, immediately available in case of error or failure.
On your premises
Daily backup; F6 datacenter Daily copy in our infrastructure in Geneva. Retention period set to your needs; 7 days, 30 days, longer if needed.
Datacenter
Additional copy; our downtown offices Optional: a third physical copy at our offices in central Geneva. An extra layer of redundancy, a few minutes from your premises.
Optional
All backups are encrypted. Your data is unreadable without your key.
Scenario B

Your infrastructure is in our datacenter

Backup on a separate structure; same datacenter Isolated copy on a distinct infrastructure within the same Geneva datacenter. Available within minutes.
Datacenter
Copy at our downtown offices Second physical location, our offices at 18, Conseil-Général. Genuine geographic separation within Geneva.
Downtown
Copy at your own premises Optional: an additional copy on your own premises. You keep control of a physical version, at all times.
Optional
All backups are encrypted. Your data is unreadable without your key.
Disaster recovery

Getting back up.
Fast. Cleanly.

Having backups is good. Knowing how quickly you can get back up, and how recent your data will be when you do — that's what really matters when the incident happens.

We define two simple parameters with you, based on the criticality of each system. Some can wait a few hours. Others — billing, client records, production — can't.

How long can you afford to be down? That answer is what defines your plan.
RTO · Recovery Time Objective

Time to restart

How much time passes between the incident and the moment you can resume work. We define it per system — not a single figure for the whole company.

RPO · Recovery Point Objective

How old the recovered data is

If you restart now, how many hours behind will your data be? Hourly, daily, or continuous backups — we choose together based on what you can afford to lose.

Criticality

Not all your systems are equal

Email, accounting, ERP, shared files — we map your systems by criticality level and calibrate the recovery plan accordingly.

What this changes, concretely

You've already answered
the question.

Most businesses discover their gaps on the day of the incident. Too late to choose calmly, too late to negotiate, too late to recover what was lost.

Working on continuity ahead of time means deciding, with a clear head, what you're willing to accept, and building a proportionate response.

01

Your data stays in Switzerland. Geneva datacenter, downtown offices — nothing ever leaves Swiss territory.

02

Everything is encrypted. Your backups are unreadable without your key — in transit, at rest, everywhere.

03

You decide the retention period. 7 days, 30 days, longer — based on your legal obligations and risk tolerance.

04

The recovery plan is tested. A backup that's never been restored is a backup you can't be sure works.

What if we looked at
your situation?

A one-hour conversation is often enough to identify what's missing and define an architecture proportionate to your business.
